What do people say about Daiļrade?
“I followed the development and growth of the dance ensemble Daiļrade since the foundation of the collective, as it was created by my former students. Silva Štelfa, the first director of ensemble, always was maximalist. She always strived for the best result. Silva always kept the principle “very good or nothing!” So the performance of the ensemble has always been and still is bright!”
“Thanks to its hard work and high standards, nowadays Daiļrade has become even more noticeable. In my opinion, this can be explained by the fact that Iveta Pētersone-Lazdāne, the current artistic director of the current ensemble, is similar in character to Silva. She is persistent and ambitious; she is very interested in high-quality dance performance. What a dance ensemble is able to show today is worthy of admiration.”
“There are a lot of good ensembles in Latvia, and the more diverse these ensembles’ characters will be in dance style, and repertoire, the more they will be loved by the folk dance lovers. I know that dancers of the dance ensemble Daiļrade work a lot, and I am really glad that there are like-minded dancing enthusiasts, who are cheering and enriching the development of national dance in Latvia.”
Daiļrade has its own, unmistakable dance manner and has its own handwriting in the dance creation process.
A dance ensemble that is loved by the audience and all dance lovers who always surprise with well-finished performances and amazes with dancing from the heart.”
“DAIĻRADE – a vivid and noticeable unit of folk art in all the years of existence.”
“They are loved; envied and discussed… as they are not like anyone.
They are young and crazy, azartic and talented, manageable and unmanageable – these are the dancers of Daiļrade.
Whether to dance in Dailrade means giving all yourself to the dance??
Yes and no. Still, one must be able to learn, to pursue a professional career, make friends, argue, love, build a family and bring up children, live life. Lucky ones!”
“DAIĻRADE has become one of the best dance ensembles in country”
“In 2012 Iveta Pētersone-Lazdāne takes over the leadership of the ensemble from its artistic director and founder Silva Štelfa. Under her leadership, Daiļrade has become one of the best dance ensembles in country, which has gained wide recognition at local and international events with its repertoire and performance. Iveta’s work is characterized by purposefulness, creative searches for the artistic image of the ensemble and the ability to attract a large number of dancers to achieve outstanding results.
The ensemble has regularly collaborated with many Latvian choreographers thus becoming their creative laboratory, as well as they got an opportunity to gain recognition in creative dance competitions. In collaboration with choreographer Agris Daņiļēvičs ensemble has started a new dance style in Latvia – folk ballet.
Thanks to a diligent, collaborative work, there is also a satisfaction with the accomplishments – to create beautifully!”
